What is the Pledge Program?

As part of this year’s 1000 Pitches Competition, MPowered is providing an opportunity for student organizations to earn money by pledging pitches. Our goal is to encourage leaders of student organizations to use their “circle of influence” in rallying their membership to collectively participate in 1000 Pitches. Leaders of student organizations will may "pledge” a certain number of pitches they believe their organization is capable of contributing. By the end of the competition, if the student organization has met or exceeded the number of pitches initially pledged, there will be a monetary reward.

Rules and Guidelines

The deadline for when all pledges must be confirmed is October 29th.  All pitches are due at the end of the competition on November 18th.

Using 1000Pitches.com

Pitches can be recorded on 1000pitches.com or recorded ahead of time and uploaded to our site from the simple uploader on the pitch page. Each participant is allowed to give up to three 30-second to 3-minute pitches.  When a participants submit their pitches, they will be able to select their organization.

Pledge Program Levels

Listed below are the various levels for which a student organization can pledge:

  • Platinum: 200 pitches pledged, $500 Reward

  • Gold: 100 pitches pledged, $250 Reward

  • Silver: 50 pitches pledged, $125 Reward

  • Bronze: Minimum of 25 pitches pledged, $50 Reward

Key Dates

Double Reward Deadline: October 20th

1.5 Reward Deadline: November 1st

Last Day to Pledge Pitches: October 29th

All Pitches Due: November 18th

Other Pledge Program Incentives

  • $250 Pitches Prize to the student organization with the most pitches submitted overall
  • $250 Finalists Prize to the student organization with the most top 100 finalists
  • 2x or 1.5x Reward to the student organizations that submit pitches early (see deadlines above)

Note: MPowered Entrepreneurship is not eligible for these additional awards.
